Our Servants
Richard Vega, Executive Pastor
Richard’s parents taught him about the Lord and how he should live at an early age. At the age of eighteen after graduating from High School he joined the US Army. It was while he was in the Army and serving in the Republic of South Korea, he truly met the Lord and was born again. He retired after serving our country for over thirty years as a Command Sergeant Major. Richard was inducted into the US Army Ordnances Hall of Fame in May of 2000.
Richard has served as an Usher, Worship Leader, Parish Council President, Sunday School Teacher and Director of the Children’s Sunday School Department at The First Baptist Church of Lakewood, in Tacoma Washington. He has Co-Pastored the West Point Community Gospel Service, at the United States Military Academy at West Point New York, and has been a Worship Leader at Nellis AFB Gospel Service. He has also served as a H. O. P. E. Chaplain at UMC Hospital offering prayer and encouragement to the patients.
At the age of sixty Richard earned his Bachelor of Science in Christian Ministries from Crown College. He was Ordained as a Minister in 2006 by Bishop Sylvester C. Hooks.
He is married to his beautiful wife of 23 years, Maria. He has five children, thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He says that our God has truly blessed him and has kept him in His Grace, Mercy and Tender Love.
Richard is a Prince Hall Freemason for over twenty-five years, serving in every leadership position up to becoming “The Tenth Grand Master of the State of Nevada”. He stands on the scripture “Greater is He that is in you then he that is in the world”, 1 John 4:4.
